Questioning the Essence of Reality in Attack on Titan – Is Free Will an Illusion?

Cant believe Im saying this, but Piecks unexpected dance routine in the middle of the battlefield had me questioning reality harder than any of Erens titan transformations. Attack on Titan has this unique way of flipping what you think you know on its head. This time, it wasn’t about titans or battles, but the very essence of free will.

Just when things couldn’t get weirder, Jean’s attempt to cook left us all questioning his survival skills more than the actual survival of humanity. But jokes aside, this shift in narrative has thrown a wrench into everything we thought we knew about the characters autonomy. Particularly with Eren, his actions now beg the question Are they truly his own or predetermined by some higher power?

This whole scenario throws a whole new light on the series’ lore. If free will is just an illusion in the Attack on Titan universe, what does that say about the struggles and triumphs of our favorite characters? It subtly shifts the narrative from a fight against titans to a fight against fate itself.

I have this theory that Isayama is leading us to a revelation that even titans are just pawns in a much larger game. It’s like every choice they make isn’t really theirs, which only adds layers to the already complex storyline. It makes you wonder if freedom is just a concept theyre chasing without ever being able to attain it.

Honestly, Im just here munching on popcorn, waiting to see if the next big reveal will make us question our own reality. Will freedom turn out to be the biggest titan they have to defeat? Cant wait to hear what you guys think is coming next, or if anyone else has their mind twisted in knots over this.
