The Rise of Reverse Isekai in 2024: A Game Changing Trend or Overhyped Fad?

Observed a significant increase in raw and serialized reverse isekai manga in 2024, and it's clearly a departure from the traditional isekai narrative we've always known. If you're out of the loop, reverse isekai flips the traditional plot: instead of humans being transported to a fantasy world, characters from other worlds are transported to ours.

Shows like Devil is a Part-timer started this trend, but recently we're seeing it literally everywhere! From mundane daily-life tales to high-action based ones, it's growing at a breakneck pace. Sure, it's refreshing to see otherworldly creatures grappling with modern technology and internet memes, but are we perhaps oversaturating the market? Maybe it's the novelty that's breathing life into a rather stale isekai genre but will it endure, or simply vanish once the novelty wears off?

Found a fantastic webcomic last week, "A Dragon in Tokyo", the story of dragon experiencing human life in modern-day Tokyo. Love the humor and culture shock elements, truly selling the reverse isekai premise.

So, what's your take on it, guys? Is reverse isekai truly a game-changing trend, or just another overhyped fad ready to fade away? What are some of the reverse isekai titles you've been enjoying?
