I recently got through Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and wow, the symbolism really blew my mind. One thing that stood out was the concept of equivalent exchange; it's not just alchemy, but a metaphor for life. You have to give something to get something, like hard work for success. The Homunculi being named after the seven deadly sins was genius too, showing how those sins are part of human nature and how they can lead to one's downfall. And don’t even get me started on the use of alchemy as a symbol for science and its ethical implications. It made me think about how science can be used for both good and evil, depending on who's wielding it. Would love to hear others' thoughts on this.
