These last few years, I've found immense solace in slice-of-life anime. There's something about its calm, patient storytelling, rich backdrops, the focus on ordinary experiences and small moments, it's... therapeutic. It’s comforting to sync with characters living a life that's less complicated and more forgiving than reality.
I was wondering about everyone else here, how did you connect with the genre? Is it through these normal yet beautiful narratives that you find emotional containment, or is it via strong relatability with these authentically crafted characters?
A couple of favorites that come to mind are 'A Silent Voice', 'March Comes in Like a Lion', and 'Natsume's Book of Friends'. Each brought a different flavor and insight but the essence of healing persisted.
Chime in your thoughts and let's naw on your favorite healing slice-of-life anime!
P.S: Looking for recommendations that are low on drama and high on comfort!
