Manga-to-Anime Adaptations: Hits and Misses, What's Your Take?

Just finished rewatching Steins;Gate and it got me thinking about how brilliantly it was adapted from the VN. In contrast, Tokyo Ghoul could have been so much more! Thoughts on best and worst manga-to-anime adaptations? Any gems we're missing out or any that seriously let their source material down? For me, One Piece still holds the top spot, despite its length and pacing issues. What's your take?

Totally agree with Steins;Gate, the adaptation was flawless. But I have to say, Death Note takes top spot for me. Light's mental battles were perfectly depicted in the anime. On the other hand, Berserk 2016 was an absolute disaster. The CG completely ruined the dark aesthetic manga had. Oh, and let's not forget about Promised Neverland's second season. A disservice to the source material, honestly.

Couldn't agree more about Steins;Gate. It's a masterpiece! Promised Neverland S2, though... Yeah, a letdown. Way too rushed and they skipped critical arcs! As for hidden gems, Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi) was faithful to the manga while adding its unique twist. The ending disappointed some, but I found it rather poignant. Has anyone seen the Parasyte anime? It did an excellent job updating the '80s manga. The end fight scene was particularly brilliant. Chill-inducing!
