Just finished binge-reading the Monogatari series light novels after being a die-hard manga fan for years. The depth of character introspection and complex world-building in the novel was unparalleled. However, I missed the visual storytelling aspect a bit. So which do you guys prefer and why? Manga with its engaging visuals and tangible art, or light novels with rich textual description and introspection? And have you felt a switch from one format to another has affected your enjoyment of the series? Keen to hear your thoughts!

I've generally been more into manga due to the visual aspect and the sheer joy of flipping those pages. However, after reading a few light novels like 'Overlord,' I gotta admit the depth they offer is something else. You get a lot more insight into the characters, the world, and the motivation behind actions. But, in the end, I'll probably remain a manga guy due to the art and the unique way of storytelling, but I won't say no to a good light novel if one catches my eye!
